On an 89 with an aftermarket overflow should the vent be up or down? I'm thinking the vent should be up so it dont spew out all the coolant, and with the hose coming into the tank on the bottom what goes in it from the radiator will be siphoned back into the radiator if the level gets low. peace

I like your idea. Have the hose to the rad on the bottom and the vent on the top. Do be sure the overflow is not air-tight (don't close the vent if it has a valve on it).

My buddies 83 overflow bottle's vent was closed and it caused it to over heat/heat up alot.Heres what the one i made looks like, but this isnt how it's mounted now, i have a thread in talk with the pics of that. peace
