i bought some new wheels and tires package and now when i ride down the road i get this poping sound, i don't think it did it before on my old ones. i really don't think its cause of the suspention work either cause it road around on that for a while before i got the wheels and it didn't do it. the wheels came with the plastick shims to go over the hub to make the wheel fit. only one of them seems to make a noise on the front pasenger side.

any suggestions

So... You had quality Ford rims and you chose to replace them with aftermarket crap that uses a plastic shim spacer to achieve "proper" fitment? What was your question again...?

well i know that i replaced them cause i wanted my car to be a little differant. and the other thing that really makes me mad is that all the other ones on there don't do it so its no really crappy wheels. just seems to be one. and besides i have had so many complaments on them. i am putting the stockers back on tomarrow to make sure

yea keep laughing cause saleen wheels don't fit right either, i know a guy that had to put electrical tape around his hub cause they shifted so bad that it walowed out the holes a little bit
:rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

I wonder if anyone has had that problem with FORD RACING rims?

Electrical tape, that's classic...

Keep telling yourself that man. Aftermarket parts manufacturers know WAY more about Ford specs and tolerances... Yeah, f'n riiight.. No one has the information of knowledge to do it as well as the MANUFACTURER.

i didn't say the aftermarket ones did know more about the specs. but i know for a fact that they ford doesn't make a oil product. and they use other parts and make them their own. like 31 spline axles are made by moser. i was just asking if there was any way i could get it to stop doing that cause i didn't want the same boring wheels that everyone else has like cobra Rs or chrome factory gt wheels of 02. i want to differant i'm not a follower i'm a leader. thats why i'm no longer and airman i'm a staff sgt in the air force. but if you want to follow everyone elses path like for instance cobra Rs or flowmaster exhaust then have fun with that single minded point of view. but if you can't help me with the problem i have so be it but don't reply to my forum and waste my time making me come read it.

well you do know they are made by the lowest bidder. just like their oil. it changes from year to year of what the lowest person will take to let them put their name on their oil

so is spaceshuttle, and we wonder why we keep having "some" issue with them one after another:nonono: prolly 1/2 of crop on it is made in Taiwan

did you try loosening the lugs and re tightening? switch plastic shim from another wheel? I have run shims and spacers but am not a fan of it. If the wheels are for your car, they should fit without shims. I understand about having something different though.

Hey I had those wheels...same size too. Did you take off the wheel and check the hub centric spacer? Those things suck...mine dried out and crumpled. The chrome pitted after 2 yrs and i washed them every week like clockwork. I's swap on the stockers or atleast rotate the new ones and check for the sound.
