hey everyone i know this topic has been posted too death but try and bear with me, please... so i just sold my quads and now i can buy a new supercharger since my stock saleen/eaton over heated or some crap. so i was at first convinced i wanted a KB but now i dont know if i want a vortech with the aftercooler. i know the kenne bell is a better "street" SC. the car is manly going to be a street car, but i dont drive like a grandma :D :nice: . i will probably only go to the track once in a while and only on some of the open track days. i am looking for over 400 hp and tq. in the range of of 415 rwhp and 415 rw tq, can i get that with the Vortech? how bout the KB? i am also getting a o/r X and maybe LT headers. the only reason i am kinda considering the Vortech again is i heard its like a Month wait for the KB and the shop im having install and tune it ( APEX Motorsports) i think specializes in the Vortechs cause that is what is mainly on there web site. so please if you can help at all that would be really cool :) cause i really want to start and ordering some of my parts  to get my car running and be smoking fast again...

You won't see as much TQ as HP with a centrifugal blower. These things love to spin so the peak torque is usually lower than peak HP.

This won't help you but if I had to order a blower right now, it would be a Paxton Novi 2000. That blower will definitely give you lots of room to go wild later down the road.

My $0.02 :nice:

I have had both ....do yourself a favor and get the KB!

KB!!! everyone is gettin one what from all the posts I've read. You get full boost at 2k rpm!! I got one on order too :) shipped to your door between 3-4 weeks depending on where you live. Easiest to install supposedly, even a dummy can do it, and that folks will save you at least 800 (around here atleast)if you do it yourself. I'll find out soon enough.

what is a BOost pipe? Steeda sells one on there web site and they say it will add 1 psi of boost and like 5-10 Hp?

Also this may not mean anything but ive noticed that almost all of the mustangs in the mustang mags have Vortechs. pretty muhc any SCed car in the mag is a vortech and maybe once in a while like every 3 months youll see a car with a KB, like i said this may not mean anything but it sure makes it seem like vortech is a really good company. but then there is also KB which has like a 3 week wait? this could be saying there really popular or it could be bad and saying there company sucks and they cant get the SC's out fast enough. so i dunno. i guess im just making excuses for my self if i end up getting a vortech. on Vortech site they say ill have 405 rwhp on a stock car. so can i upgrade and get a 10psi pully?

yes you can upgrade the pulley for more boost. The reason people say that the kenny belle is better for the street is because you have 400 ft/lbs of torque at around 2000 rpm, whereas with the vortech you would have to spin it to about 4500 and higher to see that much. The KB will feel like a big block and be good for the street, and the centris are good for the track because you don't normally see less than 4500-5000 rpm.

KB!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just from looking at dynographs and stuff I would go with a KB unit for the street. The boost and torque on the bottom end would be so much fun on the street. I recently downloaded a vid of an 03 or 04 cobra with a KB blowzilla on it and it doesn't even sound like an engine from this world. I don't know how to describe it. I am hooked on getting a KB but not until the cars paid off. Go to stangsource.com and download it. It's on page 3 of the video section 3rd row down and the third one across from the left. Choice is yours though, it's your $$$. However if you plan on taking it to the track a lot you should still consider a novi 2000. They are making big power and would be my choice for a centrifugal s/c.

Oh yeah if you want blower cams cheap I have some with only 1200 miles on them. PM me if interested.

True KB is better for the streets, but if you have a shop near you that specializes in Vortec than I say the Vortec. From what I have seen and read up on tuning is the most important asset for a car. Whats the point of all that power if it isn't tuned right. Either way you can't lose with either s/c but I recommend getting the s/c the shop nearest by specializes in. I seen too many nice vehicles lose a lot of hp and had harm to an engine due to lack of a proper tune.
