Air/Fuel gauge install

I haven't gotten to play with an LC-1 in person so had to resort to their website for your answer.

With the LC-1, you can add additional wideband channels to your LM-1, convert an existing narrow-band gauge, or add wideband capabilities to your dyno. You can even tune individual cylinders by using multiple LC-1 kits.

Andy, good info. :nice:
I had come across such a set-up (I think Millhouse used to have one). But how do you know what exact ratio you're seeing? Otherwise it would seem the gauge is kinda useless, no? Or maybe there is a way to interpolate the LEDs (and make a homemade bezel which has the ratio at that LED location)?

It's an interesting idea. :nice: Is it worth really pursuing?

Nope, I used the XD-16 gauge which has both color adjustable led's along with the digital read out.

FYI, there is a supr cheap and easy way to get a digital display for a wideband setup. You can pick up a digital mini led multimeter with a 0-5v input. You can find them that are capable of running off of 12V and have a dip switch to adjust the decimal. I've seen them on e-bay for ~$20 and you can mount them virtually anywhere.

Man, I just did something that I hate - I had you confused with a guy who was selling an LC-1 and NB AM gauge awhile back (his username is Milhouse; one L). I exhanged a few PM's with him which is why the username (albeit the wrong one) stuck with me. Apologies for that.

That's a cool tip on the cheapo digital readout. I'll be checkin it out. :nice:

BAAAH! IMPOSTER! :D

Andy, thank you sir. I've been waiting for prices to come down (which they have in the last few years). I'd like to have a gauge just to see if something goes weird, or I need to try and change something a little (I have a Moates chip in the 94). Am I correct that the LC-1 would not be able to convert the 5 V signal to a 1V signal?

Kevin, the gauges are hot man! I like the mix (I think having indiglo-style gauges would annoy me in a pillar so I really like your blend). :hail2:
Thats the reason why I did it that way. I felt the regular indiglo would be too bright up on the pillar so I did the reverse indiglo. :nice:

FYI: The guy that owns SpeedHut used to own Autometer. The qulaity of the gauges are TOP NOTCH! And you can customize them any way you want. They also have a lifetime warranty to boot! http://www.speedhut.com/Default.asp?bhcp=1

Here is some good info on the LC-1 JT.
