Air/Oil Separator Install

Hey guys, Looking at installing an air oil separator. Have a question. Has anyone had any troubles with synthetic oils in the separator? On the separator I bought that looks exactly like RIO5.0's it says to be careful of synthetic oils. Is this going to cause more problems then its worth?

Also, do you guys think I should throw one on my 1993 Bird 5.0L that has 150,000 miles?

Thanks for the help.

Has anyone had enough experience w/synthetic oil and the separator by now?

No. But I'm gettting there. I run Mobil 1 fully synthetic. I've only ran the car once since the install (c. 10 miles). I collected quite a bit of oil for just that little trip & my car ran much bettter. I will have to drive it a bit more to be able to tell if syns affect the element.

Someone posted in another thread & claimed that their element screwed up from running synthetic. Only time will tell (for me). If it does mess it up .... I can just buy another element, as they are replaceable on my seperator. I will then run regular oils ...... because I WILL NEVER RUN THIS CAR WITHOUT A SEPERATOR AGAIN!!!! It made a very good first impression on my car.
