Hi All,
I'm having an airbag issue I could use some help with. If the key is in run position the airbag light will go out after initially coming on with all the lights then will go out and stay out. I waited several minutes to make sure the code didn't pop up again. Code 6 pops up only when the car is started. Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks!

I have the same thing and I believe it is a clock spring component behind the airbag. Take a look at this post http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/air-bag-blink-1991-lx.817872/#post-8236943

I installed a brand new Doorman Clockspring and switched the factory plugs ends over to the Doorman. I tested the clocksprings and the values were within range. The code 6 only happens when the car is started. If you have a bad Clockspring code 6 will always be displayed car running or not (key turned to run but not engine on).

Would it be a problem with the sensor in the front of the car behind the bumper cover? Just a thought.

Not likely to be the front crash sensor as the airbag light does turn out. When the light goes out the module is satisfied the sensors are good.
