Gang I need some advice.
Next week I am driving to Franklin KY. to do some work at a printing company;
from there to St. Louis MO. to work on a labor contract;
then to Jackson MS. with the wife's work.

Here is the question: We are flying out of Jackson to San Diego. Would you leave your car parked at the airport? I know eventually the door ding thing or even worse is gonna happen, but as of yet, it has not. Also I dont want to own a car I am afraid to take anywhere, but at the same time. I dont want my car messed with.

I have left my wifes 2006 Lexus GS 300 in long term parking on two seperate occasions with out incident. I understand your fear though. Some lots are better than others (bigger spaces). Ask people you know if they have used any lots and how their experience was. I used a different lot both times. The second was far superior to the first.

If you find you have to park at the airport, take all the measures to reduce your risks of a door ding.

For instance chose a spot where only one car can park next to you, or park in a more vacant area. Stay away from cars that have signs that children may be getting in and out of them. I don't park next to most trucks, because they are too big for some parking spots and reduce the space between your cars.

Those kinds of things might be hard to do if the airport is packed and parking is sparse, but you get the idea.

Taxi.

I've also found that getting your bags and running up to departures and having someone pick you up there is much faster than waiting near the baggage claim.

Cheers,
J.

I do a lot of business travelling, and I always leave my Explorer at the airport. I'd probably take a taxi if I didn't have another vehicle.

I have a modified Mustang GT, and I wouldn't dare leave it at the airport. I've noticed that people tend to mess with "Modified Rides" more than "stock vehicles". I don't really see people bothering stock 'Stangs, but people love to look inside and touch the modifed 'Stangs!

My Advice:
Don't leave modified (Aftermarket Wheels, Graphics, etc.) 'Stangs in long-term parking.
Stock 'Stangs should be safe. Just stay away from Congested areas, if at all possible.

I would be inclined to agree with you to some extent. Right now I have a very stange problem at work. I keep having someone leaving lip prints on the drivers and passenger side windows. It is like they are kissing my car or something. And what makes this really scary is, the prettiest female at my work looks like Leon Spinks in a dress.
