I have a '70 Coupe, and used the B6000 system from A1electronics.com--it had the power door lock system and the availability to add a power trunk release solenoid.
I installed the power lock solenoids FIRST, got them working and THEN installed the alarm system, wiring it in as the instructions describe.
The locks operate in tandem--that is, if you lock ONE, it causes the OTHER one to lock as well.
After I got the locks installed and working, and started installing the alarm, I figured out what I needed to do to install a lock switch (so I could lock/unlock the doors with a switch instead of pushing down on the knob--useful if you're sitting in the seat, as it's a little difficult to reach around to lock/unlock with the knob), and put one in the console.
One other thing--there is a little lever on the door latch that causes the door to unlock if you have the door open, lock the door with the knob and close the door, UNLESS you hold down the button on the exterior handle--I disabled that so that I could just lock the knob and close the door.
It's pretty simple to do--you just have to bend the lever a bit so that it won't be contacted by the mechanism. It's my understanding that this was purposely designed to do that, as apparently people had problems locking themselves out of their vehicles--I don't have that problem, because I ALWAYS have my keys either in my hand or in my pocket BEFORE I close the door. Those that have problems sometimes locking their keys in their car might want to skip disabling this feature.
For the remote trunk release, I used a reproduction stock remote trunk latch that has the lever for the cable-operated remote release, and just wired in the solenoid from the trunk release kit, and connected it's cable directly to it.
I got the reproduction from a vendor on E-Bay, and it was a brand new Scott Drake part--so far, it works great!
I haven't yet gotten the vibration sensor configured quite right yet, but it's easily adjusted, and I installed the supplied hood sensor too.
One great thing about this system is that it also has the "Dome Light Supervision" option, which turns on your dome light for 30- or 60-seconds after you disarm the system.
I installed the alarm module up under the center of the dash pad, so that the antenna would be as high and as centered as possible for the remotes--AND--so that it would be extremely difficult for thieves to get to it!!
The only BAD things I could see about the alarm are that the instructions that come with it are somewhat vague in places, and that the wiring is VERY small gauge--probably 24 or even perhaps smaller.
As compared to a DEI system, I'd say it's probably on a par with their basic system (no 2-way pager option, no remote-start option, neither of which I feel I need), but for the price, I think it's a bargain.
