Alert for Portland Stangers

The next new Stang you see coming up behind you, or coming at you could very well be a Multnohma County Sherriffs patrol car. They just added 3 new Stangs to they're patrol. It was on the 10:00 news tonight. If you don't have radar...might be time.:hail2:
Yeah I spelled it wrong...brain fart

Great. I saw a mineral gray stang a while back that even looked partially modified pull right past me into the sunset, chase down a cavelier, and pull it over. I have never in my day seen a car that I couldnt spot as a cop until this one. I was miffed. Not excited about three more. Problem is, I have a radar and that is not what he was pulling the cavalier over for, it was weaving traffic. I am not condoning it, but they said on the news the main point of those cars is to catch cars exhibiting signs of road rage ie following too close, too quick of lane changes, traffic weaving etc... They wont always be so easy to spot....

ive seen the grey one on the 26/405 a few times stopping agressive drivers. dont drive like a toolbag and there wont be a problem im glad to see them out on the 26 there are to many a-hole drivers on that freeway during rushour.

Not a new thing, they've been starting to use Mustangs again for the past couple years. There have even been reports of them trying to goad people into street racing. Moral of story -- don't street race, and just assume there is always a cop watching your speed.

yesterday when i was heading to salem for some national gaurd stuff. there was this lady in an accord passsed me while i was doing 65she was doing between 90-100 while talking on her celll phone. lik eten mins later a new mustang had pulled her over no atenna no over head lights and was not typical white or black. and did not have stock rims or the "police" rims

Trying to antagonize people into street racing, and then nailing you for it? I hope thats not true, thats kinda like a cop starting a fight with you and then arresting you for it. :bs:
I know we need to keep the streets safe and all, but that would be going too far.

Any one got pics of these cop cars?

I am in complete agreement with ya. The streets need to be safe, and clean from idiots getting too excited on the road. I dont mind a bit of speed as long as the driver can handle it, and I can defensively protect myself. 100 on the cell as mentioned earlier is way out of line. The car I saw getting pulled over was doing maybe 5 more than everyone else. I cant speak for what happened before I saw this car, but I saw no eradic driving when I was watching. As far as tempting to race, this is entrapment and is illegal. I would believe it as it would take the urge from one to another to see if you are willing to race or not, but still just wrong. The Stang I saw did also have a different grill and wheels...

I was looking for your other post on 2005 forum, couldnt find it:shrug: thought you might need some back up artillery :nice:

It was the "how reliable are the new mustangs" thread by the Wilsons. God I was good. Yes AC-PONY is all nice and CLEAN now. Now I have my daily driver to do, but I'm gonna cheat on that one. We have a touchless car wash here and it truley does not touch the car, for $8.00 for the complete clean, I'm all for it.:nice:

The one on the news was WHITE and the red/blue was in the grill...pretty sneaky. Now that I think about it, I'm wondering if Staters have one on the road? I encountered a mineral grey one in Astoria and I looked at the guy when we both came to a stop light. No uniform, but my gut told me something was'nt quite right, I was in my Stang and to get around a pokey butt I got on it a little but went back to the speed limit as soon as I got around him.Hmm.....I'll be a good girl for awhile til I know for sure.

Yeah when he got out of his car he was not in uniform. They are being completely sneaky. The windows were tinted as well, fairly dark. They look like one of us drivin and appreciating our stang. Again, those who have nothing to fear are those who obide by the law. I will fully admit I do not do that all the time, but again it goes w/out saying, no one is perfect. At least we all know more about them now. Man if I was the cop, I would have a hard time not racin around though! lol.

I saw one that pulled over somebody while I was on I-5 south last friday a little south of Portland.

Then on Saturday I was on I-5 north a little south of salem and I switched from the slow lane to fast lane to pass somebody and right when I switched lanes my V1 and laser jammer started going nuts so I just slowed down and got back in the slow lane then I noticed the white stang backed into the grass on the side of the road :)

close call!

Usually when I encounter a new Stang on the road...we look at each other, or if coming at each other we at least flash headlights and this guy was big and wouldn't look at me even side by side at a stop light. If he was "a cop" is it possible he was cruising through to "see" if there were any "takers?" for a race? Another words, who in the area is possible trouble? (like me?), and here I got on it a little right in front of him, not much but enough to raise an eyebrow as a possibility for future tickets? You can bet when they got them they put them through the paces. Me thinks I'm going to be REALLY careful for awhile and resist temptation. If I see that one again it will be speed limit only, until I know for sure. Have a nice day and be verrrry careful out there.:D
