All of you that have fuel pressure gauges...

So basically when I got my use mongoose kit, the seller threw in all his gauges. They are Stewart Warner, and seem to be pretty good quality, but the one thing I hate are the stupid sending units! My oil pressure gauge isnt hooked up yet, but it uses something similar to the FP one... The thing is ugly and it gets in the way!

What do you guys run, and what does your sending units look like? I have been thinking about switching and going with autometer, but they want 200 for a FP gauge? HOLY CRAP!

the autometer sending unit is a little smaller but still on the large side.

Damn, I know I have seen some people run FP gauges, but they didnt have this ugly thing on the fuel rail...

They make an adapter that goes under the FRPS, then you just plug in the gauge.

I mounted my remotely (as Autometer recommends because of the inherient engine vibration) I made a 'mounting plate' from a scrap piece of aluminum - see pics...

the fuel and oil pressure guage "isolators" are the same. especially if the guage is in the car, the stop running oil or fuel at the isolator and use anti-freeze from the isolator to the guage. its easy to move it yourself and mount it on the firewall. or autometer makes a kit (part #5382) comes with the isolator and steel braided line. look at mine in the top right corner. just has another line going to the fuelrail to relocate it.

I have the same Stewart Warner FP guage and the sending unit is just like the one you have. The reason i got it is it was only $79 from Steeda versus $219 for an electronic autometer gauge
