All you fender well cold air guys...

I was under my stang changing the oil the other day when i noticed that the fender splash guard (on the side w/ the c/a kit) is severly restrictive. Has anyone else noticed this and taken the splash guard out and to what effect?

As long as air is free-flowing to it, it should be ok. If it can breathe, so to speak. If we are talking about the same thing, if you take that off, water could possibly shot up into the CAI filter?

With my cold air i used a 3 1/2 inch 90degree elbow with a k&n cone fits beautifully in the inner fender. Works awsome also (thats if your worried about getting more air)

I really dont think its hurting performance. If all the little tiny things like that really added power, or caused less restriction, Id have some 11.9s out of my car! Id say dont een worry about it!

Also mines been out for a while (the one along frame rails, if thats what you mean) and no issues yet!
