well, it was pretty fun. considering I almost wrecked my car, but didn't.

I was on my way home, getting off at my exit.. downshifted to 3rd as i was nearing the ramp... I've been trying to go easy on the brakes, since I need new pads, but want to hold off until i get new rotors and calipers.. so I'm going way too fast into this really sharp turn, so i decide to brake.. still going way too fast! I downshift way too quickly into 2nd.. rear wheels chirp and briefly spin as the rear end of the car slides left, i correct it (i dont even remember what i did to correct, it was just instinct) then it slides right a little, and I correct it and keep on going (the turn is about 160 degrees)

i was going about 40 when i started to slide.. it was pretty scary, but awesome after i corrected my mistake.

it made me want to start doing track racing. taking turns way too fast is funnnnn

what are your close calls with wrecking your stang?

I was comming onto the interstate from an on ramp at one time and lost the back end out of it ( bad road conditions) only I dident get it back, kept sliding right into the guard rail, wasent pretty :nonono:

I had the famous neutral drop happen in my ADOE right as my front bumper was at the back bumper of the car I was passing.

There was a slight haze of moisture on the road. Cleaning out my shorts afterwards was almost needed.

When I finally caught my nerves and pulled back up behind the car I had originally tried to pass.... they pulled off the side of the road to let me go around. :owned:

Back when I was bone stock and stupid, I was nailing getting on the highway, the roads were MOSTLY dry, :nonono: as soon as I shifted into third, I was doing about 75 mph, the back end comes out. It fishes right, I correct, it fishes left, I correct, it fishes right one last time and I finally pull out of it. The whole time the lady in the suburban I was trying to get in front of had this horrifying look on her face! I guess seeing a mustang sliding around on the ramp coming towards you at 80 mph is kinda traumatizing. lol, I haven't even gone past 1/3 throttle in the rain since.

EDIT: FREE POST!!

Well, I'm used to driving a slow a*s car until I got my stang. So I've had a couple close calls within a few weeks. The first time I was making a wide right turn, and gave it too much gas, so it fishtailed way to the left, and I just barely corrected enough to miss the curb it started heading towards. My second close call, I was making a left turn onto a 2 way road out from a parking lot, and I gave it way too much gas so I fishtailed right, over corrected and swung out left, again overcorrected, went right again, and finnally after that straightened it up. Luckily no one was in the far right lane, cause I swung from the left lane to the right.

Well this wasn't on accident, but it was still cool. A couple of us were coming back from the track one night, and I was cruising with this girl who has an 04 GT. We were going under a bridge on a road that turned right and then back to the left to connect to another highway. (Highway intersections are weird) Anyway, it was a 4 lane road, 2 one way, 2 the other, so I was in the right lane, she was in the left. We're about even just crusing about 30 mph, and as we go under the bridge, I drop it into 2nd (gotta love bridges for amplifying the exhaust! :D ) and jumped ahead real quick. As I took the corner, I gave it some gas, fishtailed into her lane, and cut her off! It was priceless. She later told me that was one of the coolest maneuvers she'd seen. It was great, then we got on the highway and cruised the rest of the way back to k-town. sigh....... good times, good times..........

i was driving some friends back to their place out of town one day from work...young guys, wanted ME to drive them home because I have the "cool" car. Coming around a corner at around 90 km/h, they tell me the corner is to my immediate left, so i downshift to 2nd, and broke the rear end loose completely around the corner (yes, I drifted...wasn't fun at the time though, because I didn't know if i was gonna correct it enough)

Sure enough, I held it steady, and fishtailed back in the other direction, only to see a pile of wet leaves on the road I had entered...and lost it again. At this point, the young guys that thought my car was "cool" now thought it was a widow maker...and had incredibly funny looks of terror on their faces.

I corrected my second fishtail with a little clutch action, and drove down the street very tamely. Those guys haven't shut up about that day since, and still won't get into my car again, despite my finesse corrective skills :nonono:
