alpine after market alarm questions

ok i know someone has a post up that is talking about alarms and iw as wondering if there are any alarm genius's out there that know what to do to when a sensor goes faulty and breaks. my door sensor broke and i have an lcd for my alarm that tells me that the door sensor is faulty and that i need to replace it.
HOW DO I DO IT?

also i have had my alarm for a while but it has never unlocked the doors even though it is supposed to i guess there was bad wriing or something to the actuators i dont know i got the car with the alarm not unlocking the doors.
HOW DO I MAKE MY ALARM UNLOCK MY DOORS AS WELL???

ok well i am on my 3rd saterday in a role working on my alarm
the door locks were last saterday and i got them to work. the only way i managed to was to tie into between the swich and the accuator. youll have to have 2 relays to get it to work. if you want a pic and diagram pm and and ill help you out. if anyone could help me with the starter interupt it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if you got a alpine alarm I got installed.Its got all the wistles but no car starter.It has over 300 wires and took the shop all day to install.If you have the guts to mess with that I give you credit.Try to call the alpine tech line.I looked for my alarm book can't find it.

yeah my alarm is pretty fancy lots of "bells and whistles" haha i dont really want to mess with it a whole lot but hmmm i want my door locks to work, but when i take it to a shop out here they are so damn hungry for work and money that i end up spending like 230 bucks. sheesh thats a pain i dont have that kind of money to be forkin out for an hour and a half of work.

well i just did my whole alarm/keyless entry/motion sensor/fm pager/hood trigger/ trunk latch and remote starter so if you guys need some help i have the wiring diagrams if you need them pm me.

there's 2 ways to make your starter interrupt 3 wire:

an the 5 wire

but if you have a 87-94 use the 3 wire one.
if you need help pm me.

and as for the locks the 87-94 stangs use reverse polarity door locks wich means your gonna have to use a relay for locking and unlocking

but if you have the original door lock actuators they might be frozen like mine were.

i strongly suggest taking it to a shop. i started to try n install my clifford remote start/doorlokc & unlock/ trunk/ h relaseood release/ window roll ups/ window roll downs...etc etc. there are so many freakin wires to get you all frustrated. just take it down to the shop before you make youself mad. they can warranty it too.

Zeus:info for 86. you can get the lock/unlock wires in the driver kick panel. pink/yellow = unlock
pink/lt green = lock.

i would check the wiring from the brain to make sure it is working (use a DMM only; a test light can fry the circuit unless it has on-board relays). most installers will put the relays (if necessary) in the driver kick next to the stock wiring connector. you should see some fat connectors with some good size wires with these colors listed above. this is a lot easier than doing as 88MustangGT did, as running wires through the door is a pain.

while you are at the brain, check the wire for the "door trigger." see if it has continuity.
the wire for the trigger is black/lt blue. most installers get it at the door pin switch. if the driver kick panel is out, it will be in the vicinity of the door lock/unlock wires. it can also be picked up at the courtesty light, but that is a pain.


stangs (or any car) can use a SPDT relay (the 'five wire' starter kill). it is a good idea to use a blocking diode on a starter kill relay, but not necessary (prevents feedback).

Zeusmoto, did you get all that stuff from before with the locks squared away?

88gt, what are you having trouble with? Crash, what does your install sheet say for the starter wire? i think it is red and yellow, but i could be very wrong. you should be able to catch it under the lower ignition column. pull the little press on wire off of the solenoid (so car wont start) and probe wires, lookin for one that is hot when the key is turned.

you could also get it at the clutch safety switch (same circuit). or at the solenoid. remember, that unless you make some sort of armored plate over the solenoid, a thief will either disable the alarm and drive off, or jump the solenoid (like we do when the car wont start), and drive off.

in case it was not mentioned- i highly recommend a back up battery for the alarm. it is a rechargable battery that will kick in if the battery is disconnected. they cost about 30 bucks from online shops or places on ebay (i think Asian wolf sells them).

for the door triggers or pins are black/blue what you want to do is tap the ones that are in the door pin right behind the door kick pannel. there normally wrapped in black electrical tape and there's 3 wires you want to get the one that is black/blue. (use some blocking diododes so you don't blow the a/c,radio etc fuse. i'll try to post a pic of the ciruict so its easier.

HISSIN50 for the starter wire in my car the starter key was red with a spiral red and the starter was white. this is the wiring harness under the steering wheel

if you need sum of the ones i don't know i can find out what they are.

no i never did fix my window i guess i will have to take it to ford becuase i got brand new switches and they still dont work....

After 1 year my Alpine is SEC-150 dead (other than an annoying clicking when I first turn the key). It is not a very good alarm. The good news is that it IS lifetime gauranteed. I am going to have Circuit City pull it and put something else in...I didn't have very good luck with the "tech" people at Alpine..
