Al's 5 Lug Conversion

Same swap I had on my black notch. Stopped great. You will need to grind a little bit off of the top the spindle itself where the caliper bracket bolts to the spindle. Bolt up the caliper bracket. Then bolt the bottom caliper bolt to the bracket. Next, swing the claiper down to the top mounting bolt. You will see where the piston hits the tab on the spindle. This takes about 2 minutes per side to grind off with an air grinder. Don't sweat it.

Over the weekend i got started on my 5 conversion. The spindles were a a b**** to get off but after smacking the s*** out off them with a big hammer they came loose. Here a few pics

looks good! i ordered the cobra 10th anniv front and rear calipers from buyfordarcing and their kit that comes with the rear cobra rotors, dust shielts, anti moan, and mounting brackets, should be here today or tomorrow. I will be slapping them on once the car needs new tires, which will prob be for a lond arse time since they are new. IONO maybe i'll find a good deal on some 5lug wheels.

Thanks blueink. I was doing the same thing you are. Gathering parts here and there but one day i stumbled across these wheels. I just replaced the tires on my ponys. I guess someone is gonna get a good deal when i sell them

Those wheels will look great! I'd advise you not to use used rotors though, especially without having them turned... mainly because old rotors tend to sit around peoples garages etc. and if you get any oil or chemicals on them it will soak in and affect braking. Better safe then sorry.

Ok i finally got around to finishing up the front end. I am very happy with these wheels. Now i gotta tackle the rear.

Looking under the car i noticed that my pinion seal is leaking. So in the process of swaping out the axles i can tackle the seal. Should i also replace the bearing? Anyone ever change a pinion seal? Any tips??

Sorry to hijack your thread, but where did you get your ranger axles? Im in the process of gathering parts for my swap also, but I have SN95 axles. I want to run an 18" wheel so Im pretty sure the SN95 axles won't work. I really didn't want to crawl around in a junk yard pulling axles, so Im trying to get an idea of where to buy some left side ranger axles.

Thanks
