Put in the 1-wire yesterday without a hitch.
Two questions:
1.) Can I get rid of the external voltage regulator now or do other accessories need it?
2.) The new alternator whines...not too loud, but noticeable right above idle, sounds like a quiet supercharger. Is this normal? Kinda of like it myself...as long as that doesn't mean there isn't something wrong with it. Has been charging as normal, it's a Summit 100amp 1wire.

Thanks!

I think I read in some articles that the external regulator is not needed anymore as the one wire ones have an internal regulator. You just remove it, tape up the ends of the wires or remove them, depending on how you want it to look. Careful around live voltage direct from the battery, you wouldn't want any kabooms.

Anyone know if the whining is normal, I've had it in 4 days and it's still there.

And how much does voltage affect performance...when my stereo is on the car always seems slower for some reason, maybe it's just my head

I noticed the whine when I put in my Powermaster 100 amp last summer. Even ran it without the belt to be sure.
