So awhile back my alternator caught on fire and completely toasted the connector, so I think I found a replacement. Is this the proper connector that connects to the top of the alternator?
Agreed with Bernie. If the connector with the stock charge-wires and stator-wire burned, that looks like the right one. Otherwise, you need the other connector (I think they call it a regulator plug).
Do we dare ask about the fire? Hope it was no biggie.
Good luck.

I am not sure what the wire is called, but the one that burned is located on the top of the alternator.
The fire? Really wasn't a big deal. I was driving the car to work and smelled hot electrical which was immediately followed by smoke in the interior. I pulled over and popped the hood. The connector and the insides of the alternator were on fire. So, I used a coat out of my car and smothered it out because I had nothing else. Luckily I wasn't far from home.
My guess is that the alternator shorted out or something and the wires got so hot that that crappy material on the connector just caught on fire.

SD, that sucks. You can also use a first-baseman's mitt to put out a fire. Dont ask......
I agree with Bernie. I just replaced my reg plug (not the one you are replacing) on the 94 because even it looked like poo. All the wires' insulation was vulcanized. I think next time I will try the harness from FFI (It looks really beefy and is recommended by 04Sleeper). But for that plug you need, I dont know of any upgraded pieces......... I guess the point was that as long as you are swapping one plug, maybe you want to renew the other one, for a few years of non-worries.
