Home of the Florida Gators!
I've been having a no charge problem, I called the maker of my 3G alternator (alterstart) and he said to check and make sure I was getting power to the yellow and green wires with the key on. Well the yellow wire has power, but the green one doesn't. I need to know how to fix this, I have a diagram and it shows the green wire as going to the dash light. Any help is appreciated!!!

i had a problem like that a while ago... it turned out that one of the wires in the back of my gauge panel had blown and i had to repair the plastic piece... after that the charging problem went away.

check that and see if there are any brakes

good luck

Yep - w/o that wire, the alternator does not know what to do. There is a resistor in series on that wire too - worth checking.

Good luck Jesse (I run a Boss 170 alt in the 88).

Well, I spent most of the the day trying to figure it out. I also took the alternator to my work Advance Auto, the alternator tested bad after alterstart rebuilt it. I'm going to have it rebuilt agian, locally this time. But in the meantime this is my daily driver and I can't figure out that wiring problem, I ordered an MSD one wire alternator from Jegs, its suposed to be here tommorow. So there goes $435 down the tubes. Oh well its just money... right???
