What battery are you running? Maybe the fact that I'm running the Optima red top has something to do with it? I also have a simple Sony CD player with no amps...I'm sure that can have a lot to do with it.

I'm running a battery from NAPA..just a plain replacement...it was slightly smaller than the one in there...what size battery will fit in the "box"...

I have a Pioneer Cd player with 4 6x8's...but I do have a hookup (previous owner) for subwoofers and amp in the back? Could that do it even though nothing is hooked up...I have a speaker fuse underneath my hood for it...

I notice when I turn on my electric fan my guage shows it drops 2 bars...and my lights go even dimmer and when I rev it it brightens back up...and even at idle with just the radio going when I rev it up it brightens up a little also... :shrug:

My electric fan doesn't even drop the needle a full bar by itself...what fan are you running? I don't lose two full bars for hardly anything!?!?!?! (Seriously, I'd have to have the AC on high, high beams, windshield wipers, flashers, cd player, and putting windows up and down to get it to drop 2+ bars) But like I said before, I'm not running the UD pulleys yet!

I have a Black Magic Electric Fan like you...all the wires are hooked up to the fan...not one is left out...

It must be the UD pullies...I'm hoping maybe that overdrive pulley that 89sleeper has will fix my problems...

Does anybody know if that speaker fuse and hookup (even though the subwoofer or amp aren't hooked up) would cause a constat draw on the charging system...?

The pulley swapped on just fine and my car charges perfect. Mine used to do the same at idle with the stock alternator pulley. Now it charges like a champ. :nice: Even with the underdrive crank pulley.

So I just need to take it off with an impact and then bolt that one from Summit back on to 60ft lbs? or less or more?

I took mine off with an impact and then just put it back on with an impact. I just held the pulley with a rag while I did it. I have done it this way several times before and never had a problem. I did not try to use a torque wrench.

if you have an amp-wiring kit with nothing on the amp end, as long as there is no short, it should not draw. i might ask: if you dont have anything hooked up, why on earth do you have the fuse installed? i would pull the fuse.

Two reason why I haven't removed it:

1. I'm "wiring retarted" :D

2. The previous owner put it in and has it wired underneath the carpet to the back for a "clean" look...and it is under the dash...and he has the fuse (I beleive) from the starter solenoid and there is a bunch of other wires in its way...I guess I could work on it one day? Save some weight atleast...maybe a few ounces :nice:

We simply cannot warranty things that are not our fault. With all that said, change the pulley and use common sense. With an impact gun and about 80 foot lbs of torque you will be just fine. When someone orders pulleys it is standard practice to tell them about this exception, perhaps we missed it when speaking to you.

This was in response to my "WHY THE F&*% DO YOU SELL UNDERDRIVE PULLEYS AND IN THE INSTALLATION MANUAL FOR THE ALTERNATOR SAY THAT THE WARRANTY IS VOIDED IF I INSTALL THE UNDERDRIVE PULLEYS????"

Basically you have to ask them for permission before you do it so you don't void your warranty....I would really ask them for permission first!

Thanks for asking them...

We were referring to installing an overdrive pulley...it would void the warranty because it puts more strain on the 3g alternator that it wasn't designed for...

I'll be ordering one pretty soon...whenever I get some money
