question?
i am looking to install aluminum head on my 5.0 and was thinking of going with the edelbrock performer head. However my motor has supposedly be rebuilt and punched .30 over to 306 so the pistons are a mystery to me right now. where or what are the specs for piston to valve clearance? also i got a little over 1k to work with what heads other than these would maybe be better. keep in mind i cant afford afr's and i have a mildly built motor. it has a mystery cam (sound like a e 303) its carb'd with edelbrock intake and carb bbk headders 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent full exhaust with dynomax mufflers. This is the first time i am going this deep into a motor ive done a cam,intake,etc swap so i know my way around pretty good any suggestions or help pointing me in the right way for an aluminum head install will be appreciated so much.
