I’ve got a question about putting some aluminum heads on my stock bottom end 302 in my 1994 mustang. Just wondering if I can put the heads on without changing the cam? I’ve read that in some cases you got to change cam to avoid valve in to piston contact. Any one ever put aluminum heads on stock engine??

The standard starting point is kind of heads, cam, and intake. It would be most beneficial, if you have the means, to overhaul the whole top end. The stock cam is tiny at best, and with the increased flow capibility of aluminum heads a cam would be a good idea.

An intake wouldn’t hurt either, and that’s the beginning of the rabbit hole.

I did not change cam and only reason I didn’t change was emission laws here in Az are very strict and my mustang is my daily driver.
I also had car tuned once everything was done
