Just sold my Sears 3.5 ton jack in our garage sale. It was very heavy and did not fit the greatest under my Bullitt.

I need recommendations for an aluminum racing jack. Something reasonable. Please feel free to provide some words of wisdom on features to look for and what to avoid.

Much appreciated!

Search for "aluminum racing jack"

It is listed at $129, but I get their catologs and some times it is listed in there for $99.

You pay a lot just for the weight savings. I got a low profile 2 ton trolley jack on sale for $20 from $60...it is the same as the good ones but weighs more like by 15-20lbs I think and has no magnetic tool tray. Speedy lift is great it takes 2-3 cranks to top out as opposed to at least 10. Look for that.

I have the one Slider mentioned from Harborfreight. Works great. My car is lowered and had trouble getting under it until I bought this one. It was on sale for $109 back in Feb.

Get the Craftsman from Sears. Guaranteed forever, very light, lift car with only two pumps, and low profile. I think I paid $160 but love it. Also, be careful with the weight rating of many of the so called "racing" jacks. A lot of them are meant to lift "race cars" which weigh less than 3,000 lbs. You'll need more than that for a street mustang.
