I need to get a new radiator so I figured I might as well get an aluminum one. I have a mild 289. Where can I get a good one for a reasonable price? Should I go with the aluminum one? If I get a 22 inch what changes will I have to make? Thanks!

I would go with a northern, they are a direct bolt in and you wont have a single problem. There also cheaper then the high dollar name brand stuff. I have one for my built 289 and it runs nice and cool in 100 degree weather.

Can you provide a link? I did a search and was unable to find a "northern" radiator in the US. northernautoparts.com doesn't show any avail. NORTHERN RADIATORS LTD is in the UK, I found a dealer in the central valley in CA but they don't have an on-line catalog. They seem to be hard to find but I see you're in Or. so they must be around somewhere.

I used a Griffin last time - very pricey and I don't have that kind of money any more.

I got mine direct from AFCO. They shipped anywhere in the USA for $5. Hard to beat that. Link! http://www.secureperformanceorder.c...D=6&ClassID=70&SubclassID=1581&ProductID=2503

RE: opposite sides, I just used a different upper hose to mate to the inlet. The bottom one is on the 'correct' side. Mines an opentracker-in-progress, so concours is not my concern.

A detractor is that it does not come with a petcock. I may add one later, rather than pull the lower hose from time to time.

best way is to get some dryer hose or other formable hose, form it to the angle you need, and take it to the AutoDrone and look thru their 'preformed' hose until you get what you need. Theres a hose for nearly every angle out there.

Alternatively, you can get some ribbed 'fit anything' hose from a *real* autoparts store ;) You can bend it any way you want.

I have even thought about going with the aluminum hose just cause it looks so much better. Well I guess I will order it, What about the bolts, did you have to change anything to bolt it onto your car?

Two small brackets on top, two on bottom. Crude - Im sure anyone can fab up something more blingy.
I will email you a cpl of pics if you PM me about it offline.

I bought mine from mustangsplus. although if I remember right it was in the $500 range, not less. it's a griffin & that was easy to bolt on. not sure if this is overkill for you. My engine gets extremely hot since it's a 347 stroker

Yer 347 Stroker kit.. What did u have to do to your 289 block? or did you buy a 302 block?
