Always get shocked after turning off car?

For 3 days now I always get a shocked (small but annoying) when I get out of my car and touch it anywhere. Door, engine, frame...

The only thing I changed was the tweecer install 1 week ago. Still works fine and this is only 3 days old?

Any idea? Is a wire touching somewhere?

Car starts and runs fine.

That's called static electricity(sp?), kinda like rubbing your feet on carpet then reaching for the door knob ZAPP.

I know what static elec is... I want to make sure there is nothing wrong with my electrical system as this is a new problem?

It has been dry enough lately that there has been lots of static electricity, especially at work.

I have to ground myself out before working on my laptop or MP3 player. I found this out by going to press the "play" button and then the big ZAP! It actually caused a reboot and changed what track the MP3 player was last paused at.

My Stang is the only vehicle in the drive that DOESN'T do it. I always seem to get shocked when I get out of any other vehicle.

I get shocked every time I get out of my GFs 2001 Galant.

Very annoying, I feel like Peter on Office Space.

I see the doorknob and know it is gonna shock me.

Do you have a pimpilicious crushed velvet interior?

If it is really bothersome, vinyl seat covers would help mitigate the static charge.

As a reminder for everyone, please ground yourself before removing the gas cap - a static discharge like the ones we all experience can be kinda caliente if it occurs near fuel vapor. (I know ya all know, but it's better to toss out a reminder since everyone seems to be getting shocked lately).

I get it real bad from a couple of cars, but that's normal in the desert SW.

It's easy enough, especially in an SUV where you just kinda' fall out of the thing. A plastic gas cap wont necessarily discharge the pent up current but touching a gas nozzle can.
I really dont know how folks do it, but every year down here atleast one poor folk ends up setting themselves on fire while filling up.
