LEFT COAST
I came here for a unbiased opinion since this is the 4.6 forum....

Am I crazy if I wanted to trade my 95 GT, 5 spd, coupe (Minus the wheels, & suspension goodies), for a super clean 86 GT t top, 5 spd, with mass air 1990 5.0 motor with 80k miles, 5 lug swap, world class T5 tranny, king cobra clutch, KYB AGX's, c springs.... I know to most its a downgrade, but I absolutely love 4 eyed T top hatchbacks....what do u think????

Heres the car.....

The 86 looks good except the front .. I always hated those headlights ..

But as for trading your car for it .... :notnice:

Thanks...I always loved those headlights....there different & u dont see them everyday...

I love my car, but Ive had 4 SN95's & ive always wanted a fox hatch especially an 86 with T tops....It would be a nice change of scenery....

Guess I'm the only one who likes it!

I'm usually not a fan of four eyes either unless the car is done right - with that said, that car looks badass! If it drives as good as it looks, I'd be all over that swap. I'd just make sure to test drive it first and not get something that will give you headaches later, mechanically.

Its hard to find four eyes in as good as shape as that car is in, most of the ones I've seen are usually beat up with rust eating up various spots. Its easier to find a clean SN-95 such as yours.

I'd definitely do a double take if I seen that Fox sitting in traffic and then whip out the phone to snap a pic, haha. Looks mean!

Just my two cents.

The car definately is BAD@$$, but I have yet to see it in person, & the dude lives a few hours away....He seems like he's very interested in the trade to...He basically
flips mustangs 4 a living....I would be removing the Bilsteins, LCA's, wheels, & maybe the springs too....It is a lot of work to do over again though & im gonna need to find some cheap struts to replace the bilsteins on the 95 if i go through with the deal...

That 86' looks to be in VERY good shape. Except for the wheels (which you have plans for anyway), it's a sweet looking car.

I would.

In the 3rd pic, is that a door ding by the door handle or a reflection?

I cant tell, but i think it might be a reflection.....

I despise tribars, but they dont look bad on that particular car 4 some reason....

The thing that sucks is that my black dd cobras are too wide in the rear & I wouldnt know what wheels to get for that car...17x10.5 is probably out of the question I would think....I would at least want a 17x9 in the rear though with 285's...No bullits, FR's, saleens, or Cobra R's, but maybe some regular 03 cobra's or 10 anniversary cobra's????

I would say do it, but your yellow SN is real pretty. I'm not a big fan of the four-eye foxes, but ultimately it comes down to whatever you really want to do

The '86 is a nice enough car, but I wouldn't get rid of an SN95 for it. Especially after you've grown used to the nicer interior and tighter feel of you SN95. If you absolutely must trade, then make sure you get a good bit of cash for your car as well. Don't be taken a back the condition of the '86 and what some crazy Fox owners think their cars are worth. Bottom line, is that it's still a 22-year-old car, with 22-year-old car problems. And your '95 is ever bit as clean (by the looks of it) if not cleaner than that '86.

Look at it this way, part of this cars appeal is it's later model 5.0L, 5-lug swap, world class T-5. All these features that are high points on this '86 come standard on your '95. So don't be talked into being overly impressed with something you're probably not going to notice anyway.
