Well when i disassemble the engine to install the new parts i didnt mark no timing or anything like that, just yanked it out. So now once i got the heads on and all/rockers.....im not sure how to get the #1 piston at the top to get my engine to run. I am having it tuned and all but i think the timing needs to be right to even get it to start?? Need help thanks

Your screwed!!!!!

Just kidding!!!
Remove the #1 spark plug, have a friend turn the motor over by hand while you put your finger in the hole, have them turn the motor until you feel air coming out, have them continue to turn the motor over until the air stops coming out, then look at the distibutor and make sure its pointing to zero, if not you may be 180* off as there are 2 compression strokes per burn cycle. If it shows zero, put the distibuto back in with the rotor pointing at the #1 plug on the cap, then use a timing light and set it to your desired specs.

lol, only laughing because i did the same thing when i had my heads off about a two months ago. I just kept moving the dist, one tooth at a time, until it popped off and i got the timing set with the light

And if you cannot find a friend to turn the motor while you stuff your finger in the hole, you can just stab in the distributor at #1 with the balancer showing 0*, and you have a 50/50 shot of it working. If it doesn't at least try to light off, you just yank the distributor and turn the motor over 360* and do it again.
