Am i missing a nut?

Well i figured something was up, but not sure because my Camaro did not have a "Adjusting Nut" but it did have the castle nut and that was all. ON my LX it has the castle nut, but it doesnt have the other solid nut that the chilton and autozone manual reference.


FYI the castle nut is threaded too
 
When I read the title, I thought your problems were so much worse. :p

Don hit the nail on the head from what I recall (but I can never keep straight what car has what nut-capturing method). You absolutely DO want some means of keeping the nut from being able to back out.

The adjusting nut IS the castle nut.

You pull the cotter pin, take off the castle retainer and take the nut off and then the washer and all you have left are the bearings.
