I agree. With the exception of my car, fox bodies should not be put on a pedestal.

I know one thing though after my resto project my fox better be worth $12-15K or more..I'm doing it for the love of it, no really . My brother just bought one for $12,800. I don't think I could pay more for a GT with a Cobra drivetrain, even though you have a few mods that make the GT a more interesting car to a gear-head.
FWIW, when I decided to mod my fox-body to hell and back, I first decided that I had no intention of ever selling it. No matter how long or how much money it takes, in the end, it will be worth it to me, because I plan to personally literally drive the value out of the money I put into it. I would honestly be embarrassed to tell you how much money I've put into my car, but if you look at my build thread, you'd probably be able to guess. Similar combos have sold for over $20k. Would mine? Likely not in these economic times. Would I be willing to let it go for what it's worth? Hell no! So, that means keeping it is most logical.
Also, it explains entirely why my '97 Corvette is bone-stock. I don't intend to lose any more money than I absolutely have to in that car, and I don't plan to keep it long enough to reap the benefit of aftermarket modifications.

So how badly was this '03 Cobra previously totalled before your brother picked it up for $12,800?
'03-'04 Cobra's are still fetching anywhere between $25,000-$30,000 here?
And IMO that GT is worth more to a racer than an 03-04 because it's geared more towards the track. Depends onthe buyer, if you want a termi, buy a termi, don't bitch about how you could get one cheaper (directed at whoever the OP was pm'ing).

I think a 99GT is a 5-6k car, and with a $9k drivetrain, regardless of the other modifications, it isn't worth $15k. Especially, considering what you can buy a similar mileage '03 Cobra for.
