Just when I get to the point where I'll FINALLY have the extra $ to finish the Mach MOTHER FREAKING NATURE COMES ALONG AND SCREWS EVERYTHING UP!!

Some of you PA guys might have heard of all the rain and Flooding in the eastern part of the state along the Delaware river. We got about 5 inches of rain on Saturday and Sunday last week, and the plant I work at got flooded and MAJORLY FUBAR. There was up to 6 feet of water INSIDE the buildings. tooling and presses are being shipped out to other facilities(and other countries namely Checkoslovakia, China and France) to get parts shipping again- they have no idea how long the plant will be down, or if they are even GOING to reopen the Water Gap site at all... Stupid British company that owns the place(since 97) has been looking for an excuse to close up shop there to save $ (or so it seemed) now they have thier excuse

It has been closed since Monday, and Watergap is trying to get the Feds to declare the area a disaster area to get federal money to help with the clean up. FEMA will be touring the area and the plant Friday afternoon.

I have some pics I'll post in the am after I get them on my site. All are exterior pics, as they just started calling in some of the maintence crew to clean up and help ship crap out yesterday and they weren't allowing any cameras inside the building.

Yeah, that sux.

But at least you have water ........we're on our 8th year of severe drought, and theres NO water left. Its a farming area, and a lot of crops will be in deep **** this year.

what else can you do when Mother nature gets pissed- take it and then complain about it later. We got hammered in September too by Hurricane Ivan, but it was nowhere near this bad. People were saying this is the worst flooding here since 1955.

Here's a couple more from my place, I live in an OLD farmhouse- have a little creek that runs on one side of the hous, and a marsh on the other. Great area really(no sarcasm) quite, plenty of room away from the nearest neighbors, and usually no trouble with flooding, but this time we got a little worried we were like a little island for a couple days, and the people back the raod had to either wait out the flooding or try to drive through about 2 feet of water to get out to go to town.

Damn, that sucks.
I drive a 3 car carrier, and I've been picking up totalled (flood damaged) cars all last week, and I'm sure I'll be out picking them up for the next couple weeks, too. I was in Sullivan County, NY on Friday, and I couldnt believe the flood damage on some of the roads, lawns and houses. I'm always wondering if my 33,000 lb truck is going to drop into a hidden sink hole in the road or something.
