I have an annoying squeek comming from my brakes I suppose. It is odd because it is comming from the drivers side and it only makes the noise when I turn to the left (drivers side). If I have the wheel turned to the passengers side it doesn't make the noise.
I had a lot of people tell me this was the wheel bearing and I got so sick of the noise I replaced the wheel bearing today. It was quite for all of 3 miles... not even. The noise is now back. I'm rather certain that the noise is comming from the brakes at this point.
When I was puting everything back together I retracted the caliper just a little bit to make reinstalling it easier. The thing that freaked me out is it looked like the caliper pistons had cracks in them ? They were in the same spot on both of the pistons and looked exactly the same. I don't know if they are suppose to be like that or not. The car has been driving and braking absolutely fine. I ment to take a picture of it but I stupidly put it all back together and when I realized what I had done I was in no mood to pull it all appart.
Yes the pads and rotors are fairly new and the friction surfaces are clean. The pads also have the shims on them so thats not the problem. This is a recent development and I'm geting sick of it. Any help is appreciated.
