Where do you run your cable?
What is the best cable to get?
Can some one post links to a cable, quad, and adjuster that is works great for you?

My (new) fork has hardly no travel. It is adj. and i run out of adj. and hardly have no movement, maybe about 1" if that. Im guessing that it is stretched.

I got mine from summit. their brand. I had to replace it once though. The first one I got was defective. the end that hooked into the quad wasnt crimped on well and pulled of the day I put it in. they sent me another one, free of charge, right away, and that one has been working well for 2 years now.

I'd recommend the MM kit. It is outstanding and all the parts are made to properly function together. If you have LT's, the longer cable will help you as well.

Good luck.

Another vote for Maximum Motorsports. I have the "universal" cable on my '89 with a UPR firewall adjuster and triple-hook quad. Smooth as buttah.

It has to be the cable. I stuck the tranny in got the fork set up, and still had a stiff ass pedal. So i pulled the tranny and left the fork on the cable with tension on the fork and everything was were it was supposed to be. So im going with the cable.

PS: I will have a spare cable up for grabs after this, if anyone would like to have a super stiff clutch

Prob. just use it to throw in the spokes of a honda or sumthin

Ok so i got the new MM clutch cable kit (comes with everything) and the firewall adjuster is almost screwed all the way out??????

The pedal pushes SUPER EZ its like pushing on a stiff gas pedal lol.
The tanny is just hanging on the bell housing b/c i wanted to make sure everything was working right before i put it all back together. How much travel should the fork at the tranny have? I cant start the car b/c the exaust is pulled and i want to make sure it is dis eng. the clutch. The firewall adjuster is bothering me.

PS i hope this is how stiff the pedal is supposed to be!

yeah my adjuster is almost all the way out no problems here though the cable it comes with won't stretch much. My cable makesa a big loop just like the instructions say. There shouldn't be a lot of play in the cable. just enough to where you don't have constant pressure on the t/o bearing. For those who have major trouble with a stiff pedal and have tried every thing cable, clutch, fork, quad, etc... I had a problem when I first bought my car that after I changed all that and had the trans out and in like 6 times I figured out it was the thrust bearing on the crank of the engine. Due to a cheap reman engine that I did not buy by the way. It let the crank move back and forth. Every time I pushed the clutch the crank would move forward and I would have to stand on it. It was very stiff and that was with a stock clutch. Any way a new motor cleared that right up. That was about 4 motors and 10 clutches ago by the way but good info all the same. I found out after I had switched all the parts cause it finally made the crank move far enough to make the acc belt squeak every time I pushed the clutch. When I took the motor apart the crank had eaten into the main cap and block about 3/16 never seen any thing like it. Figured it would just break instead. One of the connecting rods had been stamped with 4 different #'s where it had been in 4 different motors in 4 different locations. The motor which came in the car was from CityMotors in SanAntonio.

I have had the best luck with the stock cables in use with the UPR firewall adjuster and there triple hook quadrant. It works nice and smooth.

Do you have the cable hooked to the second finger on the quadrant (the one closest to you when looking at it.)

ok well it didnt go very good..

I ended up having to put a 1 1/4" spacer between the cable and the fire wall adj and screw it most of the way out. It is working but im not very happy with having to do that. It is the ezest clutch i have ever pushed tho.
