i have an 02 GT and i am just wondering if a set of 315/45r17 Nittos on 10.5 inch deepdish Bullets will fit on my car right now. i have steeda sport springs installed as well. thank you and sorry for posting a question like this.

P.S. i am only installing the deepdish on the rear, the front are staying 245.

no a 315/45 will be a littel to big. do a 315/35 and youll be fine

THere's going to be a large difference in height if you go with 315/45 over 315/35. 315/35 is pretty close to your cars stock overall tire height. If you go with 315/45, your mph will be wrong, and you will get false milage.

....245/45 is stock height. i didnt kno the height measurement changed when you get a wider tire....

The second number is the aspect ratio. Its the relationship between tire height and tire width, so when your tire gets wider, the aspect number should get smaller to keep the same overall height.

nitto doesnt make a 315/45... least not that i have seen all i saw was a 315/35. I could be wrong i guess

think of the second number as a % of the first. a certain percent of 245 is going to be smaller then that same percent of 315.

there are actually calculations to figure all this out, but you even have to calculate your wheel size into the equasion or it will be wrong.

i did this when i bought wheels, but i forget the calculation.

trying to remember.....think it was somthing like this.

stock = 245/45/17in

take the wheel width (245) divide it by 25.4. this = 9.65in.

then take the number u got (9.65) multiply by second number (.45) always put point in front of the second number of the tire. this = 4.3in.

now you have all the numbers u need. your stock tire is 4.3 in. on top, 4.3 in. on the bottom, and 17 in. in middle for the rim. add them all up and you have the over all diameter of the wheel. 25.66 in. this is as close as you can get. ( rounding all my numbers.

you can do this with any size tires and 17 or 18 in. wheels and get pretty close.

lol, woah, thats a tight fit if i dont get nittos, ima get kuhmo's. my current set are working pretty good for me. any opinions?

Like ADRENLN said that's the way to figure it out.

Just another way to get overall diameter
Example: P245/45/17

245x0.45x2 = 220.5

220.5/25.4 = 8.68

8.68+17 = 25.7" if you round to tenths of an inch.

25.7 is measured on a 8.0" wide wheel.

If you streched the same tire on a 9" wide wheel the overall diameter would be 25.3"

For every 0.5" increase or decrease in wheel with you gain/lose 0.2" of an inch.
