Raising the boiling point though, in turn, will allow the coolant to stay un-airated, and hotter. A higher difference between a hot object and the surrounding environment temperature means a higher rate of cooling, or heat transfer anyway. With a radiator, you can assume surrounding env. temp. does not increase as heat is transfered from the radiator to the air, as new air is introduced as you drive along.

What this means is that if you have two radiators, both flowing the same amount of water and air, with air at the same temperature, and one has hotter water flowing into it, the hotter one will cool at a faster rate.

That isn't to say the hotter one will cool the engine to a lower temp., it will most likely still be a tiny bit higher than the lower temp. water one, BUT, the system is capable of taking more heat out.

What it means to cars: You can cool more horsepower with a higher radiator pressure.
