Well i decided that im going to go with a h/c/i before i go forced induction. Im looking for a setup that will give me low to mid torque range. Im not looking for the high end hp because it is mostly a street driven car. I want a cam that sounds more aggresive then stock but i dont want to sacrifice drivability. My current mods are longtubes with an offroad hipe. Its an 87 with mass air conversion and everything else is pretty much stock. Later on plan on getting a kenne bell but for now i think ill go the h/c/i route. Can anyone give me suggestions on a good setup. I was looking at the trickflow kit that comes with everything. Anyone have an opinion on that..or something else.. Thanks

The Trick flow kits are nice for the price and make good power. I believe there is a bit of loss of torque in the lower rpms though but listen to someone with the actual combo. Advancing the cam would help with that...

I know I went with a custom cam/AFR 165's/Performer intake (main parts) and I have more torque than stock and much more higher rpm power...so I got the best of both worlds :nice:

Got any track times or dyno #'s yet?

Nope...but my Centerforce clutch is broke in now and I'll be heading to the track as soon as I get a free Saturday night :nice: There is always something stopping me from getting any decent times...

I still got a valve cover leak (wrong gasket for the head) and hopefully it won't contaminate the clutch any time soon...

I've been helping my friend out with his tranny/clutch issues as well lately...me and "them" clutches  :D

The Trickflow kits sound very good. If your going with a Kenne Bell then I would try and match the cam to the blower. I kept my stock cam for drivability with the speed density. I don't think you would be disappointed with a Trickflow or Edelbrock kit.

I have the trick flow heads/intake/rockers with an e cam and its great. I would have really liked to keep the stage 1 cam in but it is technically not emissions legal here in Ca. There is just a tad less low end power compared to say the GT40 but the rpms pick up really quick and with forced induction I doubt you will have any problems with torque at any rpm. Definately streetable. Still for the price, you can't touch the overall performance for the dollars to the street heat intake.

well..that would be in a year or two at least..but it will be kept in mind..Now what would have i have to beef up for the blower..i dont plan on doing a rebuild because i doubt i need it but i will be doing a compression test soon..

I had a 85 gt with a stock short block stage 1 cam stock tw heads and a victor jr intake with 650 carb short tubes off road h pipe and flowmasters it made 302rwhp @5800 rpm and was a blast to drive with 3.73 gears it ran 12.40s with a small slick
