I've searched and been reading the past three days, plenty of these threads, but still I've come to a dead end.
88 GT converted to MAF. Recently put on GT40p (ported), GT40 upper, with Tmoss ported lower.
New 19#injectors.
New FPR stock
FRP Headers
Air Pump deleted
Stock dizzy, MSD coil and 6AL
94/95 fuel rails
Before tear down car ran fine. Now, the strange part. We have to have the timing advanced to 20-30 for it to idle decently and not miss. With it advanced that far, it will behave as long as you don't get into the throttle. Soon as you do, have the inherent intermittant miss. AOD car, when it gets into overdrive, it bogs down.
Have checked dizzy multiple times, TDC etc etc.
Had AFPR, adjusted that around, put a new stock one on and same results.
Pulled codes, only significant code is 44 (EGR) Pulled EGR cleaned it. Pulled vacuum on valve, it stumbled.
Going to do Compression check and Leak down this week when I have time.
One other thing, car was dyno'd about 1.5 yrs ago, just as a baseline before we started mods. Dyno guy showed car was running lean. Car has always needed 2 cranks to start, now it needs three or so. Have FP gauge on rails, and it shows initial prime only gets 5psi and drops, 2nd gets 20psi, starts to drop then finally 3rd it will start. Have new fuel pump on way and will change filter at same time to see if that may be it.
Any other ideas?
