another question about my car

ok, i'm going to try to explain this the best i can...
i took my car for a ride (86 5sp) at first it reacted fine, the one wheel peel off and even chirp in 2nd (only 2:73's or 3:08's), after a little while, when u punch it, it wouldn't react the same, like it was been held up, and then after 3k or 4k it would take off, tried down****ing to 2nd, and still does the same, and again after 3k or 4k frees up again and puts right back in the seat.
any hints?

should be driver side close to the firewall... next to the brake booster....
