The white DP wheels on your coupe are real.
Actually, some of the SSC's came with that exact wheel with the polished lip. I can't remember the last bumper number SSC I saw with them that came factory but some SSC's did come with the polished lip.
You could also buy the all white DP wheel or the wheel you have above direct from Saleen Performance Parts. You could have it either way for a short time. That was late 89 early 90. I remember seeing piles of them with the polished lip. I actually bought a set of the polished lip wheels for a friend at the time. He had turned two of his basketweave wheels into tacos and wanted the DP wheel so I picked up a set for him.
Bottlefed, if you pull one of the wheels the spokes will be hollow. The updated DP5 that came available later has a single "rib" right down the center of the back of the spoke. They did that because of the cracking that occurs just from age or as Davidj pointed out the spokes stick out which makes them un curb friendly.
The center caps without the "Saleen" S were available for years afterwards. I'm sure the guy pulled the d p logo off the center of the black cap and applied the late 80's mesh logo for looks. I don't mind it myself. You can pick up those new from Performance Autosport.
