Ok so i was trying to take my car to the shop today to drop it off to get the radiator fixed. Basically the radiator lip has an imperfection from the factory and it doesnt hold pressure. I let the car warm up to operating temp and squeezed the top hose so that the electric fan comes on then i started driving the car to the shop. Meanwhile the radiator hose does not have any pressure. After driving for around 5 minutes the car decides to flood out the engine. I have a wideband that reads about 13:1 to 14:1 while cruzing but when it floods the engine it goes to 10:1 then the wideband just reads rich. I can barely start the car up when its warmed up and it wont idle at all until i let it cool down. So now im going to have AAA tow the car to the shop but i just wanted to know if that was a symptom of a car that wont hold pressure. I have a homemade tune on the car but i also reverted it to the stock tune and its the same deal. My STOCK temp guage reads normal temp but could the top of the engine block overheat and the stock guage not see it overheat but the computer engine sensor sees it and goes into limp mode and floods the computer? Any imput would help Thanks.

The mass air meter is a C&L calabrated for the 42# injecters. Yes i know i need to get a new meter and that will come with time but this meter will have to do for now.

What? I know the mass air would cause a rich condition but it runs fun before its at full operating temp. Then when it richens out i can hear what sounds liek my turbo spooling from light load, meaning the exhaust gas temp is getting really hot. Timing is set to 10* with a 20* lockout on my tweecer at WOT and normal part throttle timing from the stock computer. I have also added a mass air curve for the C&L and have tried to lean it out.

whats your nominal A/F scalar at? What does the ETC have to say on the tweecer? How did you map that mass air meter? Its hard to believe that the ETC will richen it up that much? Does the car un real well before it heats up to temp?

I dont know where to find the nominal A/F ratio in caledit. The highest temp the ETC has read was 236DegF. Right now the mass air calibration im using is between a the 73in C&L that comes with caledit and the transfer sheet that C&L faxed me for my meter. Both are rich. The car runs perfect before it heats up. I have done some passes with the car before it got to full temp and there was no problems with drivability and the A/F on the wideband was in a safe range. Thats way i think its a pressure and overheating problem. Thanks for your response
