Today I pulled the fresh air vent from the left side under the dash. May as well paint it while I have things opened up.
Attached to it was a cardboard container about the size of Chinese carry out food containers. The material was gray cardboard, somewhat like the glove box is made from. The open ended container had an ear in which a hole was located that one of the studs which holds the vent tube in place passed thru. Thus, the nut kept this thing along with one part of the vent in place.
It is crumbling. I looked in all my catalogs and I cannot find one. Is it up there to prevent wiring from contacting the wiper system linkage?
I will post an image shortly.
Also will a vac get all the leaves and junk out of the cowl or do I need C4 compound?
