k, heres the delema. im having a 393 stroker built for my 89 fox. it has stock t5.. so when the engine is installed, about how long can that stock t5 last??? keep in mind i do absolutely NO TRACK, stock gears, and its my daily driver/hwy commuter. its about 50 miles day backnforth to work. i understand it's going to wear out. eventually in about 3 months i'm buying a tko600.. my concern is whether or not the stock T5 will hold until then??? so what do you think?

Like the man said, it depends on how you drive it. Based on what you have said, you will be able to drive it for a long time with no issues as long as you drive like my grandma but I would have to ask why "would you want to do that?" It is like being married to Hottie McJugs but never doing the deed. What's the point? You can keep the T5 iffin you want as long as you build it up. Send it to G-Force and you will get back a tranny that will handle 600/600 hp/ft.lbs.

If you just want the T-5 to hold up a few months while you save your money for a better transmission, I totally understand your dilemna. Just get on it at speed in second or third gear without shifting hard and you should be fine. If you intend on baby'ing it forever, which I don't get the impression you want to do, then I agree with the others; you built the wrong engine. If that's the case, give it to me , and I don't care if I have to put a 1,000 hp capable transmission behind it if thats what it takes to hold up behind the engine. In fact, I would hope I'd have to spend that kind of money on a transmission because the engine is that bad ass.

If you're running smallish street tires (225/50-16, for example), it's likely that the tires will break loose before the tranny blows - at least, for a while. Just don't shock it with clutch dumps.
