he said SOHC. Not DOHC...
I'm assuming 5.4SOHC from F150, and E-line? 5.0&FF did installed one of them beast(5.4 from econoline) in gt, and IIRC, it made gab of torque down low RPM, but due to restrictive intake, it didn't make that much power on top. But with different intake and tuning, i think high200 to low 300 is easy I think

Yeah..I was meaning SOHC.. Like a GT except a 5.4 block instead of a 4.6.

I read that 5.0..I think they did that with the 3G GT.. But they used the stock heads and stuff.

Im going to get ported heads, bigger cams, better intake.

I have a GT. Im looking to go with a forged internal 5.4 instead of a 4.6. Cost wise a built 4.6 costs about the same as a built 5.4.

I just want to be different.
I see people doing the Navigator engine swap and stuff like that..B

Ehhh, lotsa money, lackluster results. Do it if you want to be different, but otherwise, I'd just go with a blown 4.6L, were I you.

My 4.6 is hosed..I need a new engine anyways..I was going to get a forged 4.6 big bore until I thought about the 5.4. Cost wise is about the same for a short block. I was going to get ported heads and stuff either way.

Im going to get a Kenne Bell in the future too.

So I will have a A Kennebell 5.4 SOHC.

Your 5.4 navigator engine looks sweet in your stang..I read about some people doing that swap..Looks like it barely fits..Looks cool as hell....Awesome job!

I have done two 5.4 all motor swaps. Both have not yet made it to the dyno one is still in the shop Waiting on some cams, and going to use an RR Intake. As long as you get some good cams for it you will love the power that it will make. We have also just got done doing an Ligthning motor in an 96 GT w/an cog system, Full exhaust, Custom Xpipe using an Bassani X section, and some other little stuff. We are going to be dynoing it this friday and see what number it puts out. We are still using an 5 speed in it. It should make pretty good power though. If you have the money I would do an 5.4. You will have cubic Inches and A LOT OF Torque!...LOL. But it will also be a good Sleeper to a lot of people. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. But if it were me I would do an 5.4 w/some Ported heads and look at VT for some Cams or Comp for the cams. They both have some good profiles for the 5.4's. Let me know if I can help out in anyway. Hope this will help you out a little in your choice.

just remember you can only make so much power on pump gas and a 4.6 will go as far as a 5.4 with blower or turbo they will be pretty much the same
