Any CDC shaker horror stories

This might be my next mod since I dont plan on spending the big $$$ on a blower anytime soon. Also I have heard many people say go with the Kar Kraft kit but I dont want to spend the money on a new hood, shipping, paint, then figure out what to do with my "stock hood." I also heard that CDC redesigned the "hood applique" since there were some problems with the original. I know I wont gain much power but like the idea of a shaker skoop sticking out of the hood, and stock 2000 GT hoods look crappy. Anyone have the applique fly off, or suck water into the engine, or anything else?

You'll gain little or nothing in power. You don't have to worry about the shaker sucking in any outside water if it rains or anything. Just keep the hose away from the front of the shaker when you wash your car and you'll never have any problem of that kind.

ive always wanted the shaker beings i couldnt afford a real mach 1, I just dont know what all goes into installing the shaker on the car, I know alot of people say they dont look good but i dont know where to find a mach 1 hood or anything and i dont shop for low prices very well.

my .02 if you going to do the shaker do it all the way. save the $$$$ and do the kar kraft kit. I know the price sucks but It just looks better IMO.

I don't know how widespread the problem was but I know I read at least one story of the applique flying off. it was a dealership intalled item in that story.

I have a feeling that if you buy the CDC kit you will always kind of wish you had ponied up and got the kar kraft kit. I would even the the cost sucks.

when i see the pics I think the factory mach 1 hood just suits the kit better. I though about doing this and then I just laid down the law to my self and decide no looks mods until the KB and t-56 are in. then I can play with looks mods if I want.

yeah I think the scoop looks fine but the I am not a big fan of the applique. I wish I was because it is cheaper. that is alwasy the way it works for me though. I alwasy like the mod that makes me poor ha ha.

If you dont' mind the applique that is proably the way to go and just check the bolts every now and then for the first few months. I have a feelling the people that had it fly off never checked them.

I guess I'm odd (duh)...but I think the CDC applique shaker looks better than the Ford overly large hood bulge shaker...

IMHO the lines of the Ford shaker hood are just "wrong"...I can't put my finger on exactly what's wrong but it just doesn't fit the rest of the car well...
