I am going to be buying headers for my 99 Cobra this fall, and I believe I am going with Kooks long tubes and off road x pipe, which will run into a magnaflow cat back. Anyone have the headers? I was wondering how is the fit/finish and sound, as well as performance of them before I drop $950 for the headers and x pipe. Thanks

Josh

Great fit and finish....no problems at all with them. Only problem is the collectors tend to rust on in no time....I had to remove the collector after 4 months to do a clutch replacement and had to beat it off.

I had them installed last April...got them in Jan or Feb. I believe they were all coated. Can't remember if the collectors were for sure or not. The guy at the shop (Alternative Auto) said they were nice, but for the money BBK's was a better bang for the buck LT. That's normally what he installs.

Mine are showing rust around the collectors as well on my 01 .they are good headers i'm not sure on the bbk's the kooks are supposed to be easier to install.

I love my Kooks. They are easier to install. I modified my Basanni X-pipe with cats to fit them. They are fully coated but they are coated with the collector on. It is bare steel under the collector. That is the only way to make them fit together nicely. If they coat them before hand they wont fit together.

If I was to do it again, yup, save yourself some money and go with the BBK's.

I just was told by the shop that the other collect was seized on now. So now both collectors have been seized on and I'm not sure what they are going to do to bolt it all back up. WTF?

Go with BBK's.

I have heard problems with the BBK's, weld slag is still in the pipes and people sucking them into the motor and ruining it. Do a search on BBK LT problems.
