I know this may be a weird question to ask on a mustang forum, but...... I want to know what everyone here does NOT like about their mustang.
I'm looking into buying a '04 GT with a Mach 460 system & automatic (I know, but I don't want to deal with the freeway traffic w/ manual), so if anyone with a similar car has gripes with it, lemme know.

Quality has been fine for me, better than I expected since people always say Ford sucks.
I've only had 2 problems, condensation in fog light housing and seat belts not retracting. The seat belts are covered under warranty but the fog light housings I replaced with crystal clears. Oh, the thing I hate most are the freaking cup holders, they aren't.

Other than that, 4.5 years and I love my Ford

Well, the '04 I looked at had 2 cupholders. One could easily hold a normal sized McD's cup and the other one could have the rubber thing removed so that it looked like it could hold almost a double gulp, so it seems sufficient to me.
I've seen way too many BMW's that only have cupholders big enough for a 12oz can

In 01, they made the cup holders real cup holders
They also added a bunch of other creature comforts that I wish I had.

Well, some gripes are:
My interior rattles at times.
Windows squeek.
Tranny clunks going into O/D.
The seat belt loop was a PITA that I finally took it off.
My center console is slightly misaligned.
I hate that I cant recline the seats all the way back.
One damn foglight is dimmer than the other.
At times it runs like chit.
I had to take it to the dealership a couple of times but other than that I still really love my car

My factory paint was bad, but Ford paid to repaint almost all of the car when it was still under warranty

Seat belts are a pain. Had a major water leak around the windshield that took 3 trips in to the dealer to correct.

i guess the bottom line is that if we didn't like mustangs, we'd be driving camaros or trans am's or something

(some people would be driving rice)

Yeah, the cup holders, the back one is way too big, and when you put anyting in the front one it limits shifting to 1st, 3rd, and 5th (of course they fixed that on the 01- newer models). The factory seats suck on long trips, traction on wet pavement can be scarry (better now that I have switched to Bridgestone Potenza's), and the factory brakes are marginal for a performance car.

Windows squealing is my biggest complaint, other then that just the seat belt. Love everything else about my GT!

i'm sure most GT drivers here will disagree with me...but I'm getting sick of the rear suspension. If I had to do it all over again, I'd spend more and get a cobra and enjoy IRS once again...

quality has been pretty good so far, and I haven't had to take my car back yet (my car has 9000 miles on it).

I don't like my seats. You should sit in a bucket, not on it. The seat is also a little too high for my taste, and the power controls underneath are awkward to use. I'd also like the shifter a little closer, but that shouldn't matter on an automatic. The Gatorbacks kinda suck: noisy, not too hot in rain, horrible in snow. Those can be changed pretty easily, though. Someone already mentioned the seat balt retractors and the obnoxious plastic loop on the seat that the belt goes through. I don't have too many rattles yet (12k miles) and the cupholders are great after my del Sol.

Theres an article at MUSTANGWORLD.COM that tells you how to make the seat recline ALL the way. Check that one off the list.

I have a automatic 1999 35th anniversary mustang gt convertible with absolutely NO problems. Had a 98 coupe v6 before that and had no problems with it as well. I must be lucky at fine well made cars.
