Any drawbacks?

I don't like my seats. You should sit in a bucket, not on it. The seat is also a little too high for my taste, and the power controls underneath are awkward to use. I'd also like the shifter a little closer, but that shouldn't matter on an automatic. The Gatorbacks kinda suck: noisy, not too hot in rain, horrible in snow. Those can be changed pretty easily, though. Someone already mentioned the seat balt retractors and the obnoxious plastic loop on the seat that the belt goes through. I don't have too many rattles yet (12k miles) and the cupholders are great after my del Sol.
Yeah, I hate my seats. I've sat in an 02 v6, the seats were better (more side bolstering and lumbar). But I've gotten used to it now.

I also got problems with the seatbelts....they just won't retract.
I told Ford about the seat belt problem my last oil change (47k). I've had this problem for over a year but I -always- forget to tell them. He told me there was no recall but seat belts are covered under 5 year/50k miles and would be replaced for free

Worth a shot :)

i hate not having my car at the moment  it's still at ford for a tranny problem with 3927mi on it. but other than that i wouldn't trade it for anything. of course you really don't have to worry about the tranny thing since your getting a auto (mines a 5 speed t-3650). i love em & this is my third one :nice:

The seats aren't that great is my only real complaint. Hopefully Ford will put some real seats in the new mustang.

You guys with squeeky windows, get some multi purpose silicone lubricant and spray the rubber that you think is squeeking on the window. Fixed my squeeky window for 2$. :nice:

Oddly, my roomate's 02 v6 had squeeky windows. I'm at 47k without that problem :)

I have an 01 GT with 40k. One thing to think about, is if you ever plan on upgrading your stereo, it is very difficult with the Mach 460. Most places won't even work on them if they have the Mach 460, ie Best buy and Circuit city. I agree with most of everybody else, the seats are shat. I also have a problem with the little hook that holds the driver side floormat, the carpet is starting to rip right there.

I miss my 300zx seats (but I was spoiled, the stock seats were racing seats) and the car rides too high. Ford needs TRUE bucket seats and needs to lower stock ride height about an inch. Other then that, :nice:

Other than the seat belts and the cupholder and a few ticks in the engine when it's below 0 out I've got no other complaints. As for problems none yet, and I love my seats I've got the 35th limited edition seats very comfy except when it get's 90+ degree's out if I don't run the A/C I've got a bad case of sballs :notnice:

sballs :notnice:

I don't like when my windshield fogs up in early morning and cold at night.. maybe it has something to do with the tinting? it kinda left a line where the right viper blade ends also... other than that there are few rattles which doesn't bother me as much b/c it's a convertible..

Also the damn power outlet doesn't work.. I'm going to ford soon..

I love mine, about the only complains I have might be a couple of squeeks occasionally, and the fact that the body doesn't feel ridgid, but some subframe connectors will solve that problem. Oh, and for the manual, 2nd gear kinda feels like you're grinding it for the first couple of shifts when the car is cold in the morning, other than that, it's been reliable and I love it :D

I am glad to see that the seat belts not retracting is a universal problem. It almost seems like it is twisted and I know that it tries to twist at times. But the damn thing just won't retract unless you help feed it in.

I have a 99 GT with 128,000 on it & the only gripes that I've had are the stupid plastic intake manifold that cracked about a year after the warranty expired & the funky shifting from the automatic overdrive trans. I'm kind of glad that the manifold cracked because the aluminim manifold that I installed really woke the motor up...
