WOW, old thread!

But to stay on topic lol, the one thing I dislike the most (in stock trim) is the car being too slow, especially compared to it's competition.

The stock exhaust is too quiet and it doesnt handle or stop quite as well as its competition.

But I guess that's what the aftermarket is for.

I wonder if this sets a new record for the oldest resurrected thread. I think there have been half a dozen "what do you hate about your stang" threads since...

oh, and I hate how my door won't stay open on even the slightest incline, like my driveway.

Holy revival!

I just got my 04 Gt a week ago so I can't say that I have had much time to find flaws.

Maybe because I am older I enjoy the sound of the factory mufflers...enough of a rumble to know she's a V8 but not obnoxious as a young kids car.

The auto I wish was tad more performance orientated but I knew it would not run like my wife's 5 speed nissan tranny auto or the s197 auto's.

Mach 460 works fine for me, I sit in too much traffic and the auto does what I need it to do. I've only jumped on the car once as I understand it's not going to run with a healthy LS1 or 2 but I accept that fact. If I need faster, I turn to the blown Notch in the garage.

I find the car comfortable, the wife enjoys and feels comfortable behind the wheel and it does what I need it to do; nuff said.

I will check the torque on the plugs in a week or two for the proper 13 ft lbs and change the tranny fluid with genuine ford goo in the spring and throw on a new fuel filter, but other than that I can see the car running a good, long time.

I also plan to undercoat the heck out of it as it is a 4 seasons car. Yes, the thing is a mountain goat in the snow with Blizzaks; no fear.

At least it's more erect and not floppy anymore.

The thing I really hate, was the slow stock 3.27's and ride of the car. Power wise I can't really complain, went from a 6 stang to the 8 stang and too me that's a big improvement in power.

If anything I would get 3.73s, and a custom tune, that should put you up another 15+hp, get her to accelerate a lot better and shift better. I consider those must have mods to any 99-04 stang.

my wife is scare to death to drive my car. Claims the car will kill her.
Most of the stuff I didn't like about the car, I changed. I really liked the new edge styline, with the right parts. Even better then the s197. Much more sleek and and sporty. But I hated the seats, the plasitic interior. I am glad I have a newer new edge. I could stand riding around in my buddys old 99 GT. Those interiors really sucked comparied to the 01s and up.

yeah mustangs can terrible, always running out of tires, snapping driveshafts, crushing rear ends, and always seeing those damned ugly camaros in the back window.

i have an 01. my only complaints would be rattle in ac vent, but its not bad. probably comes from cam/exhaust.... lol . have a little bit of a rattle on driver side window. Dont have any major issues, or problems here.

Maybe down the road.

When I was younger I was all about throwing in a set of gears and doing whatever was necessary to be competative on the street... hence the Notch, but I couldn't even tell you what I have in the pig of my 04.

I'll probably throw on a C&L upper intake at some point retaining the stock t-bod but I sit in too much traffic to get away with underdrives.

Seatbelts
Window Sqeak
Mach 460 does not deliever clean enough bass
Headlights leak
Noisy Drivetrain
Headers are a PITA to install and get to seal
Seats don't fully recline
Dot matrix on rear glass makes it hard to tint
Water comes from every orfice after washing and drying your car

But everytime I flip the switch and hammer the gas I fall back in love with it. I will NEVER sell this car

Lol, my buddy is 6 foot 5 inches and I remember I let him drive my stang and he was so uncomfortable. He could steer with his legs He drives a 03 HD Truck which he much more prefers.

Ditto I"m 6'1" and I'll turn off the signal from time to time. But it makes driving down the highway with no hands real easy.

I always get ricers revving it up on me, but sadly I can't really hear them over my exhaust or I'm just deaf because of it
