Any Galaxy fans here or owners?

My daughter and son-in-law now have the 64 Galaxie 500 Fastback that Dad bought Mom brand new in 1964. After Mom passed away, Dad kept it covered in the garage, then when he died we put it in storage. The kids are working on getting it on the road again. 55,000 actual miles (in family since new), 289 automatic. Burgundy with black interior. It'll be fun, and kinda nostalgic, to see it on the road again. Dad couldn't believe that my new Mustang in 64 cost almost as much as the big Galaxie did (about $3400).

Yea. I just picked up a 66 galaxie convertible.
It was painted about 3 years ago, and never reassembled, so consequently, I have boxes of trim, headlight buckets, etc., which need to be cleaned/installed.
It's got a 352 with an FMX trans.
I know there are peices/parts missing--let the puzzle begin.

I wanted one of those '63 427 Galaxie R-code Starliners real bad. By the time I could afford one it was 1965 and Ford had goofed up the body style so bad you couldn't tell where its roots were. They'd also given up the 427 in favor of a 7 Litre (428) with a geometric look to it. It had lost a lot of its magic for me. I bought a SS396 Chevy in protest! No, at that time Mustang was the farthest car from my mind. Did not have BB horsepower and it was a Falcon as far as I was concerned. I'd have bought a Fairlane first. My first Mustang was a '67 2+2 and I only bought it because my wife wanted it badly and I was aiming to please at the time. Sad thing how a beautiful woman can distract a man from his goals... Her only concession is I could buy a fastback...she wanted a coupe!

I have a 72 galaxie 500. It was my field romper when I was 13-15 years old. I used to see how fast I could get it going down the field road on the north 40. Since then it has sat, but I loved that car. Had tons of power and was fun to drive. Anyone need any parts from it?. hehe

A friend of mine in Pittsburgh has a '64 Custom 500(cheap Galaxie) that his dad bought brand new. It has a 289/4spd, and still has the original factory black paint. This car is mint!! His brother has their dads other car, a 1950 Mercury (upside down bathtub looking thing). It is also black, and in incredibly good shape. They both have the original "A" title for them since they stayed in the family.

I have a friend with a fully restored 65 Galaxie 500 4 door with a 390 auto, and another with a 67 2 door (not restored, but is probably one of the better project cars I've seen) with a built 429 and C6. The latter is for sale, i could give you details
