Any GT Motors Burning Oil?

I have been very pleased to see hardly a drop of oil being burned in my motor. Is this everyones experience or are some people needing to add a quart between changes? My Turbo motors burned oil but thats the way they are designed so you really had to keep your eye on it.

Its not supposed to burn oil, if you wanted something that does I would suggest you go with a german car.

No oil burned in 4000 miles.

None burned at 3900 miles.

When I first got my GT it was a quart low after 8000 miles or so.....then when I changed the oil at the dealer the next day I was down about not quite a quart, had to go back and have them top it off....

Either two coincidencess, or the engine hides oil somehwere when you fill it up?

Doublestang, good chance the "brain trust" that worked on your car didn't check the level. These idiots at the dealerships usually are 18 year old kids who are hung over from boozing the night before. Rather than changing the filter and oil and the running the motor they just check the dipstick which natually will give you only a little more than 5 quarts in the motor instead of 6. ALWAYS check your oil level after its been changed before you leave the dealer or better yet find a good mechanic you can trust.

That must include when you buy the car as well huh? ha!
As for finding a good mechanic I would love to and I will for the real stuff, but I just bought my second stang at this dealer and for some strange reason they guarantee the motor for the life of the car if I change my oil there???? Sounds like a plan to me......I WILL learn to ride herd on them though!

I know.... I know.... if I (as in me ) blow then engine for some reason or another it still gives me a remote avenue of recourse to have my engine replaced after the warranty wears out. I also asked my salesman how long I had to learn to stop riding the clutch before I burned it up....his reply "3 years or 36,000 miles".. they might take care of me. I will give them a chance at least..

Doublestang, ESPECIALLY when you buy the car! I picked up my first quality Ford product and the idiots at the dealer never bothered to check fluid levels. My first American car broke down at the ripe old age of 41 miles! Leak in the cooling system which should have been picked up with a simple fluid check.

Just make sure to replace the PCV valve every year and you will never get oil consumption.

Or if you want to "rust proof" the underside of your car you could get an English car.

Mine wasn't fully filled to the 'full' mark when I got it, I topped it off at my work. When I changed my oil for the first time I made sure to fill it to the mark on the first shot.
