Any of you guys use different shift knobs for different seasons?

It's getting pretty toasty here in AZ and I think I might pick up the ford racing knob that looks like the termi cobra ones for the summer months. I have one of those monster knobs or whatever they are called right now and it stays fairly cool. But I also kinda wanna switch it up for the summer and not have to worry about it. When I first moved out here I had the bullitt knob and I damn near burnt myself a few times in the summertime.

Anyone switch it up for the summer months?

Nope, just run the 99-01 cobra knob year round In one of my old gt's I had a billet knob for a little and didnt care for the feel at all And it did get warm

I ran a Mach 1 AL knob for 3 years with no probs - summer or winter

Then i went to the 5-spd Cobra style knob with the AL top for a summer and winter with no probs.

I had a nice aluminum knob in my old 95 GT once. I got in there after it was baking in the sun for 3 hours at 90* plus outside and holy man!!!!! I could have fried an egg on that thing.

My billit AC knobs get super hot, I can imagine the shift knob.
We get a lot of 100 degree days here but AZ gets the 110+ degree days.

No but, same here. The knob on my B&M Hammer Shifter (w/Quicksilver Ball) will get hot as heck when out in the sun. Ask Cobrared i am sure he knows what I am talking about LOL!

I have never burnt myself on my Cobras knob but I bought the 5-speed version of the 03/04 knob for my 96 and damn near burnt myself after the car sat in the sun for 5-6 hours. The top is metal and absorbed alot of heat.

I've got the Mach 1/Bullitt knob on my shifter...that's all I run. Yeah, it does suck grabbing the thing after the car's been in the sun for a few hours but it's got a better feel than that stock leather knob. It's also not too pleasant in the colder winter months, but that's what driving gloves are for. Heh.

Bullit knob is run for half the year, and I run the stock knob the other half of the year just for a change. Nothing to do with climate for me.

Does'nt get hot enough here to use different shifter balls, even though I do have two different ones. I put my MGW Mach 1 gripper shifter knob away and bought a cool looking blue UPR Mach 1 shifter ball from a guy who was selling it, and it was basically still new. They quit making it about 5 years ago when Ford got ticked about the Mach 1 name being used.

My "Pony" MGW knob is the second best fitting knob for my hand...

Come winter or summer...

I replace my weighted aluminum knob with the stock leather one for winter. Scorching my hand is one thing, but having it freeze to the shifter is unacceptable

In all fairness, the stock knob is rather nice and better than metal for all seasons.

I use a Hurst T handle with the button on the side to work my SLP line loc. It does get a little warm, never gotten too hot to use. My car originally came equipped with a carbon fiber Ford racing shift knob. I LOVED that one. I believe that they are discontinued now.

same here, even our high temps dont burn me, actually its the stearing wheel that burns me here in AZ

Another vote for the Hurst classic white knob. Just like the looks and feel.

yet another vote for the classic white Hurst knob...even after being in the sun with the top down for hours it's still doesn't get hot (well relatively speaking)
