Im in the market for a new ride and i saw this 04 saleen with 10k miles on it. Its at a dealership nearby, they want 29k for it, what do you guys think? Is it a saleen s281-e(extreme)? How much is it really worth? Pics..

If you collect cars, then you might look at it. Otherwise, a waste of time. I might pay 15k for that car if I was actually going to drive it. Never was a fan of the saleen mustangs besides the original s-351 car. But that is me, a car is worth what you are willing to spend.
For that price, you could be driving a brand new 5.0 mustang with warranty, be faster, and have all the upgrades that new cars have. JMO

No way would I pay 29k for a saleen. Not worth it IMOP. I agree with winters and would pay 15k maybe as high as 17. If you do indeed end up buying that car or another supercharged saleen drive it straight to a shop and have it tuned. The tunes that came from saleen are crap and tend to be lean on the top end.

+1 on what winters said on the new 5.0. Or you could get a terminator for a couple thousand dollars cheaper.

Ya not 29k. My mamma's which is the exact same as that one literally with about 5k more miles for like 10-11k less. And thag was a year and a half ago. They do look Awesome though.

And no its not the extreme. It just has a few of the extreme pieces on it. But its missing a few as well which is how you know its not one. I've always loved how the saleens look as well.

price is stupid high. that is highly modded 04 cobra or used GT500 territory! honestly i would not give more than 13K for it.
FWIW i sold my fully built car with 35K for $14K about 3 months ago. the only thing stock was the body!!

It really is not priced all that high for what it is -- a low-mile Saleen in what looks like excellent condition.
It likely is not an S281 Extreme, but instead an S281 Supercharged -- this assessment comes after mulling-over the high production (bumper) number. They made only a handful of Extremes that year, which means the bumper number would not be that high.

I'm guessing if someone doesn't like Saleens or SN95 Mustangs they wouldn't recommend somebody buying one 
...and the default answer around here to the "should I buy" question seems to be "no, get a 2011" way too often 
to me that's like recommending a 70 cougar to a guy looking at 67/68s...sure they are both called Cougars, buy they are very different cars
if you really like SN95 Saleens it looks to be a very nice one, but IMHO the price is definitly on the (very) high side, unless you are looking as a collector not a driver.

Realistically, if you are a collector who wants to hold onto this as an all original Saleen (but it looks like it has a pulley?! And the painted interior panels?!) but if you want to get a high performance vehicle, you can definitely do better. My car can handle better than that one, but it might be slightly faster in a straight line. If you want a driver, pass on this, but if you love Saleen's and want to hold onto this for a long, long time, I say go for it!
