Wow are you serious? Not trying to be a dick but your advice is way off the mainstream compared to most.Rule of thumb I generally use: Start at the tailpipe and work your way forward. Don't get overly hungup on horspower yet either. Torque improvements should come first before you go laying out bucks on intake systems, throttle kits etc.. Loose the 3:56 gears and go to 3:73's. Don't let any one talk you into 4:10's. They work great if you dont have a blower but with one, you use up your horsepower real quick. Also.. Don't go putting some mega buck tire and wheel set on yet until you put a lowering kit on.
First, there is very little difference between a 3:55 (not 3:56 as stated) and a 3:73 gear sets. That's a lot of work and money to swap out the gears for very little difference in ratio's. Not worth it IMO and 99% of all other Terminator owner opinions. I do agree that 4:10's would be overkill on an 03/04. Stick with the 3:55's, they are perfect. If you just HAD to get gears go 3.90's, best compromise.
Torque improvements should come first? WTF? Please tell one performance mod for the 03/04 that produces more torque than HP? Adding an intake system is THE easiest, fastest, and simplest way to add HP/TQ to these cars bar none so why try to steer him away from that? And what the hell is a throttle kit?
Lowering kit? The guy is asking about exhaust set ups for an 03/04, not wheel & tire packages. These cars though DO need much better rubber than stock because stickier tires greatly reduces wheel hop.
